Jamel Clifford Kirk
October 8, 1980 – February 7, 2025

Jamel Clifford Kirk was born on October 8, 1980 in Brooklyn, NY to Claudette Rose and Mervyn Kirk.  After relocating to Houston he resided with his second parents (aunt and uncle) – Erma and Steve Daniel. He attended Elsik High School in Houston, after graduation Jamel enlisted in the U.S. Army serving proudly for 20 years with distinction. During his service, he completed one tour in Iraq and three in Afghanistan, where he earned several commendations and awards for his bravery, commitment, and selflessness. His military career was defined by his unwavering dedication to duty and his deep sense of pride in serving his country.

While in the Army he met his wife Tiffany Wooten-Kirk, also a US Army veteran. and have been married for 13 years.  From this union they had two beautiful children – Ja’khel (11) and Z’mora (8), who were the love of his life, also father to Ju’wuan (22) and Z’nya (17).  As a father, Jamel was loving, patient, and deeply involved in his children’s lives. He instilled in them the values of resilience, kindness, and service, always leading by example.

Jamel enjoyed travelling with his family especially to St. Vincent and the Grenadines where his mother resides, most recently spending Christmas with his Mom and baby brother- Ahmad Williams and his childhood best friend – Randy David (aka Scribbings).  Jamel was very fond of his big sister Zemora Andrew who was his confidant, as a result he decided to move from Killeen after retiring from the army to Katy, Texas to be closer to her.  Jamel enjoyed spending time at family gatherings during the holidays, and having birthday parties for his kids as well as barbecuing in his backyard.

Jamel transitioned from time to eternity on Friday, February 7th, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clifford and Esmie Rose, Clarence and Delores Kirk, Uncles Leroy and Micheal Rose.

Jamel leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Tiffany Kirk, children Ja’khell, Z’mora, Ju’wuan and Z’nya, parents Claudette Rose-Williams and Mervyn Kirk, step-father Solomon Williams, siblings Zemora Andrew (Anslem), Kadeem Raynor (Danielle), Shaquille and Ahmad Williams.  Brother-in-law – Darius Micah Smith, chosen sisters/cousins Stevanna and Surya Daniel. Jamel Kirk, Tiffany and Family, I offer my deepest condolences to loose such a good man at such a young age. A husband, father, son, brother in arms. I will call him Kirk as I remember him more in a personal way while serving with him while stationed in Texas. Kirk was always motivated, positive and engaging. More than a physical specimen, he was a gentle soul with a soft heart and a flashy smile. He truly cared about those in his family, his circle and his Soldiering. He served his country with the utmost of respect and skill. I remember Kirk and I always conversing about him entering me into the 300 club since he drive one of those vehicles. Kirk was true to his roots of a person and background. Kirk you will always have a special place in my hearts, my thoughts, and my prayers. The heavens are blessed today as you transition to gain such a good soul. I will see you on the high ground on the other side my friend. To his family, you have my deepest condolences and wish you my best as you maneuver these unfortunate times.

      Love Scott Frey
