An angel has gotten her wings last time I saw your beautiful smile was at the food stamp office I was like hey auntie you told me everyone call me they auntie go get in line lol…. When you went on break you called to the side and asked me my name you gave me the biggest most comforting hug and a kiss on the cheek and said girl if you don’t look like goobie…. We talked for a little bit you told me how proud you were of me and to stay out of trouble and of course I need to be back at church Then you laughed and said don’t be telling these people I’m your aunt then they going to all think they can get special treatment lol for some reason you knew my day was off but that hug you gave me took all my troubles away heaven has gained a beautiful loving angel

My good friend, my cousin In law, my dancing partner. You will be missed. You always had a willingness to help; when it came to filing the gift bags for the John Wesley Gaines School Gala Reunion; when my mom needed her car boosted off; our telephone conversations. You would have been at the 2025 Gala but God knew the plans. I could go on and on but we know God’s words stated, “to be absent in body is to be present with the LORD”. Rest in Paradise my friend and we will meet again, when I get there.

It was such a honor having met Ms. Anita Scott. A beautiful person inside and out. She loved her Son Keith Evans and supported his efforts every step of the way when it came to Track Houston Youth Track Club. I remember her in the trenches with us when we volunteered at Reliant Stadium and the Toyota Ctr. She was always there with us with as much energy as the younger Parents. Never complained. I always wanted to claim her as my cousin since we shared the name Scott, which is my maiden name. May she rest in Heavenly Peace. She will never be forgotten ♥️ 😇. Fly high Angel.

Rest in peace cousin. I remember how you, Gary and Larry use to sing all the time at Evergreen Baptist Church when we were growing up in our home city of St. Maurice.
John 14:1-3 “ 1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.“

My prayers and condolences to the family.
I remember Anita and Charles and Reginald and I got married around the same time in 1998, in the new church building.
Whenever I think about her, the biggest thing I remember is her smile. I never saw her upset or not smiling. I am sure she is really smiling now that she is with the Father in Heaven. God bless the family!

Nita, you were a ray of light! THAT smile!!! No matter the duration between our last time seeing one another, you ALWAYS greeted us with a warm smile & hug. Your laughter was contagious!!! We will all miss your energy, welcoming spirit and “stand on the truth” self. We’re confident that Keith & Melissa will carry your legacy forward honoring you and your goodness in the lives that they build with their families.

Rest in peace Queen! God’s got you and those that you’ve left behind.

  28. LaShawnda Gray-Daniels on 03/08/2025 at 8:22 am

Nita, your energy was contagious! THAT SMILE!!! You commanded presence in any room. No matter the duration between our time together, you ALWAYS greeted with a warm embrace, smile and hearty laughter as if we hadn’t missed a beat. You modeled “standing on truth” and I appreciated your “tell-it-like-it-was” persona. I am confident that you’ve left a legacy of “goodness” in Keith and Melissa. They will carry it forward in the lives that they’re building with their families to make you prouder.

Rest in peace, Queen! God’s got you and those that you’ve left behind.

Until the next line dance with you in Heaven…

I will always remember her laughter, quick wit and warm greeting when she saw me. God bless you both and you and your family!

    Love y’all!
